2009 Christian Service Award19th Annual Christian Service AwardsCatholic Social Services of Southern Illinois will be seeking nominations for the 19th Annual Christian Service Awards. Individuals nominated should live or serve in the Belleville Diocese which encompasses the southern-most 28 counties of Illinois. The awards will be presented at a benefit dinner event on Friday, May 1, 2009. Christian Service Award GuidelinesThe recipients of the Christian Service Awards are nominated by members of the community. Nominations will be considered regardless of religious affiliation. Up to three awards are normally given to outstanding individuals that reflect the mission and spirit of Catholic Social Services through their contributions in one or more of the following areas: faith-related service; community service; youth mentoring; advocacy; direct service to those in need; activity in community organizations, volunteerism, and/or fundraising. Catholic Social Services is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to be a visible expression of God's love by responding to the human needs of the people of Southern Illinois and by promoting a just and caring community for men, women, and children of all backgrounds.
