Don Bosco Children's Center

Named after a nineteenth century Italian priest, Don Bosco Children's Center serves boys and girls ages 6-12 through a long-term treatment program. The Center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is the only one of its kind in Southern Illinois (south of Bloomington, IL) for 6-12 year old children. It has provided a safe-haven to many hundreds of children since its inception on January 13, 1992. Typically, children are placed at Don Bosco when they have been the victims of serious abuse and/or neglect or when they have an emotional condition that is too severe for them to succeed at home or a foster home or when there is just no family or foster home to care for them.

While at the Center, children receive: individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy as needed. During their stay children have access to healthcare, educational opportunities, recreational opportunities, properly balanced meals and receive the care and attention of dedicated, well-trained, professional staff.
